What is Poland LT?
Poland LT is the opportunity of a lifetime to spend a summer living, growing and serving in Eastern Europe. Students will join GCM’s current church planting team in Poznan, Poland to help lead an evangelistic English camp for high school and university age students. This involves evangelism through teaching conversational English, building relationships with young people, follow up, as well as discipleship training and opportunities for personal spiritual growth. Participation is limited to 10-15 students.
What Will I Do at Poland LT?
After arriving in Poland, the summer begins with a week of intensive training in the Czech Republic in Eastern Europe (1 week). Upon returning to Poznan, students will engage with Polish students through English Clubs and contact with local high schools. While preparing for the Summer Camp students will also be equipped in ministry and challenged in personal spiritual growth (3 weeks).
Pre-camp training takes place in Krakow, in southern Poland and includes the opportunity to visit the concentration camp Auschwitz. During the camp (located in the Polish mountains) students have the opportunity to work with a Short Term Mission team from the US, leading English Groups, Discussion Groups and Sport Times to build relationships with Polish students (1 week).
After camp students will return to Poznan to continue to build relationships with Polish students and follow-up spiritual interested sparked at camp (2 1/2 weeks).
LT will be concluded with a weekend of debrief and reflection.
